The blog Anonimi della Croce (November 11) writes that the German bishops have presented to Pope Francis a list of married “permanent deacons” they want to ordain to the priesthood. According to the blog Francis’ permission is already underway.
Since the Council the German Church has been reduced to an empty shell with over 100.000 employees, most of them not engaged in pastoral activities. This structure is kept alive by a huge cash flow generated by the German Church tax. Married priests will help to keep this façade upright.

I made it a project a few years back to read Daniel-Rops multi-volume history of the Church (advantage of a house library and being the librarian). I remember him pointing out that before the 'reformation' had properly begun the Counter-reformation had already started. Luther might have stuck his theses to the church door in 1517 but already there were many orthodox Catholics actively seeking reform and renewal within the Church and in her Tradition. Italy was a hotbed of Franciscan spirituality (the Capuchins broke away in 1520) as was Spain. Indeed Spain gave us both Ignatius Loyola, Peter of AcantaraTeresa of Avila, and John of the Cross to name a few. Even as Satan brings his brew to the boil God has His saints at work. Our Lady's promise at Fatima must always be in our minds and hearts "In the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph!"

True faith, purity, hope charity etc Then again many things are born in Germany thanks to the Arch Heretic Luther, viz. Hitler and nihilism. modernists etc

Will celibacy be killed in Germany? If the bishops there have their way, the answer is a resounding YES! Celebrations to follow.
