Pope Leo XIV arrived in Lebanon this afternoon. During the flight, he reaffirmed the Holy See’s support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He also noted that, while in Turkey, he discussed plans for a major ecumenical gathering in 2033—possibly in Jerusalem—to mark 2,000 years since Christ’s death and resurrection.
In Lebanon, large crowds braved heavy rain to glimpse the Pope. He was welcomed by a light show projected onto the walls of the Presidential Palace in Baabda before speeking to Lebanon’s civil authorities.

Once Received the Same 'Piggy' Insult He Hurled at Reporter
During a nasty public feud in the '80s, the mayor of New York ridiculed Trump as a greedy "piggy." Decades later, at the peak of his power, Trump repurposed the stunning insult to hush a journalist asking about Epstein
His irritated demand for her to "quiet, piggy" soon went viral, prompting widespread concerns about his increasingly hostile treatment toward reporters
The shocking "piggy" insult from the world's most powerful leader echoed a line that Trump himself was hit with in 1987, when he picked an ugly fight with the New York City mayor
Long before Donald Trump became president, he was on the receiving end of an insult that he would wield nearly four decades later against a reporter.
In the 1980s, the rising real estate tycoon had his sights set on developing a flashy and controversial new complex in New York City's Upper West Side, which he planned to call "Television City" in hopes that the set of towers would replace …Aktar

The Saint Andrew Christmas Novena - Fides et Ratio | Reflections on life from a theological and rational perspective

Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold. In that hour, vouchsafe, O my God! to hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother. Amen.

Gloria.tv Is Grateful for You. Dependent on You.

Gloria.tv is grateful for you. And Gloria.tv needs you. When Gloria.tv began 18 years ago, we knew that a place was needed where Catholics could upload and share their content. That part worked.
What we didn’t foresee was how wildly the platform would grow—on the technical side through constant needs and work, and on the human side through your contributions, your arguments, your digital friendships. Real communities formed—sometimes harmonious, sometimes combative, but always alive.
We’re financially built - nolens volens - around the idea of a low-budget project, but we still need at least €100,000 annually. Thirty percent of that is funded in Advent.
Ten percent of extraordinarily generous supporters - who deserve more thanks than these words can carry - shoulder a large part of the burden.
The hard truth for online projects in general is that only a small proportion of users donate. And the hard truth for Gloria.tv is that many of our European donors are elderly, deeply pious …Aktar

Canada’s Relationship with the United States Is not the Problem, It Is the Solution

Canada’s Relationship with the United States Is not the Problem, It Is the Solution

But the transition will not be without pain. Among the oxen to be gored would be supply management, energy regulations, cultural (CanCon) rules, banking and financial regulations, shipping regulations, and interprovincial trade barriers;
Canadian Citizens For Charter Rights and Freedoms
Let’s begin with the first paradox. History teaches that expansive geography, natural beauty, and abundant resources do not by themselves guarantee economic success. Small nations with limited geography and resources such as Great Britain, Japan, and the Netherlands have developed successful economic models proven over time. The absence of resources can often be a source of innovation and creative strategies.
Warning lights are Already Flashing
Alternatively, nations with abundant natural resources have often squandered their wealth and opportunity. Look at Argentina and Venezuela for example, both are rich in natural resources and have educated populations, yet both ran their economies into the ground …

"Synodality Everywhere"

The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops has released a document titled, "National Strategy for Ecumenism: Episcopal Commission for Christian Unity, Religious Relations with the Jews, and Interfaith Dialogue." One of the big ideas, and hardly a new one, is to promote ecumenism by pushing Synodality.
After all, Church leaders and many of the laity have spent three years meeting, dining and debating the elusive subject. The Vatican II Nostra Aetate declaration (Latin for "in our time") on the Catholic Church's relation with other religions hasn't accomplished much in 60 years, so what makes anyone think this time it will any different? Heaven forbid the truth be told about any non-Christian religion.
The Canadian bishops call for "Ecumenical officers and diocesan/eparchial ecumenical commissions are encouraged to enhance the pertinent elements of the curriculum of existing diocesan formation programs, to assist leaders in strengthening relations with other Christian faith communities …

Saint Silvester Gozzolini | Founder of the Sylvestrines | Catechism for Kids (November 26th)
St Joseph's Corner
Have you ever wondered how one person’s quiet search for God can grow into a whole religious family? 🕊️🌿 On November 26, the Church celebrates Saint Silvester Gozzolini, an Italian priest who left behind a comfortable life to follow God more closely — and eventually founded the Sylvestrine Order, part of the Benedictine family. Born in 1177, Silvester served as a priest but felt called to deeper prayer after witnessing the funeral of a sinner who had avoided repentance. Shocked and moved, he sought a holier life and went into solitude near Montefano, where he prayed, fasted, and lived simply. Soon, disciples gathered around him, inspired by his holiness. This led to the creation of the Sylvestrines, a branch of the Benedictines known for their deep prayer, strict monastic life, blue habits, and love for simplicity. Saint Silvester spent his life teaching others how to love …Aktar

IT consultant arrested after posing with gun on LinkedIn

IT consultant arrested after posing with gun on LinkedIn

An IT consultant was arrested by police in Britain after he posted a picture online of himself posing with a gun in the US.
Jon Richelieu-Booth said he was shocked by the “Orwellian” decision by West Yorkshire Police (WYP) to prosecute him over the social media post.
The 50-year-old said that on Aug 13 he had posted a picture of himself on LinkedIn holding a shotgun while on a private homestead with friends during a holiday in Florida.
Mr Richelieu-Booth claims the LinkedIn message contained nothing he considered threatening, with the picture attached to a lengthy post about his day and work activities.
However, he said that a police officer later visited his home to warn him that concerns had been raised about the post.
“I was told to be careful what I say online and I need to understand how it makes people feel,” he said.
Mr Richelieu-Booth said he offered to provide officers with proof that the picture of the firearm had been taken while he was in the US but the officers said that …
