Luisella Scrosati is one of the finest Catholic journalists in Italy at this time. She often writes articles of considerable interest on liturgical topics. With the permission ofLa Nuova Bussola Quotidiana, we offer NLM readers the following translation of her article series on the topic of spiritual, architectural, and liturgical orientation, beginning today with “L’orientamento della preghiera”, originally published in Italian on November 9 of this year. No religious man, whether pagan, Jewish, or Christian, neglected the posture of the body in prayer, and especially in the presentation of offerings to the deity. In particular, three aspects appear especially well documented in writings and visual representations: standing posture, raised and open hands, and eyes turned toward the sky—characteristics that were common to both the faithful who presented offerings and prayers and the priest who sacrificed them to the deity. These bodily attitudes express a clear aspect: prayer and the …
Leo's synodal church is against God Instead of obeying God, Leo caves to world's applause and prefers to obey the world. OPEN YOUR EYES, false mercy is been given in order to numb souls spiritual defenses and ruin people, REMAIN FAITHFUL to the Catholic Teachings despite the beautiful lies from our Church leaders. A big hug in Jesus Christ. Amen

California Church Fined $1.2M Appeals to Supreme Court: Calvary Chapel San Jose is an evangelical Protestant church in California. It was fined over $1.2 million for refusing to enforce COVID-19 mask mandates during services in 2020–2021 and has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn the penalties. The church argues the fines violate religious freedom and the First Amendment, citing exemptions for secular institutions. After losing in California courts, it petitioned the Supreme Court, which is expected to decide in spring 2026 whether to hear the case.
Tue Dec 16, 2025 - 3:28 pm EST WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) — A Christian church in California that was ordered to pay $1.2 million in fines for refusing to enforce local mask mandates as it continued to hold services in 2020 and 2021 during the COVID-19 outbreak has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn the lower court’s ruling. “This case stands as one of the clearest examples of government overreach against a church in modern American history,” declared Advocates for Faith & Freedom, the attorney group that has long represented Calvary Chapel in San Jose (CCSJ), California, and its Pastor Mike McClure, in a statement shared with LifeSiteNews. Advocates for Faith & Freedom (AFF) is now working in partnership with the American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ) in D.C. to petition the Supreme Court. CCSJ began to openly defy its Silicon Valley county’s harsh lockdown rules after an initial two months of compliance in 2020, recognizing the serious spiritual needs of their congregants …

A Paris court has fined a father of a family tens of thousands of euros for placing pro-life stickers on Vélib’ rental bicycles. In May 2023, stickers reading “What if you had let them live?” with an illustration of a fetus growing into a baby and then a cyclist appeared on many bikes in Paris. Vélib’ filed a complaint, and city officials, including Mayor Anne Hidalgo, strongly condemned the action. Several politicians described the campaign as shameful, reactionary, and an attack on women’s abortion rights, while government ministers denounced it as an anti-abortion provocation in public space. Pro-life group Les Survivants defended the message, saying every life deserves to be lived. More than two years later, the court ruled against Emile Duport, sentencing him to around €36,000 in fines for damaging public property. He has since appealed for financial help to pay the penalty.
35 000 euros !
Meanwhile, taggers are spray painting all sorts of slogans and obscenities, and defacing property as a result, in cities like Paris and elsewhere around the world. At least this fellow did something life-affirming and prodded his fellow Parisians to take some time in their day to exercise the beautiful faculty of reflection.
Saint Begga, Widow and Abbess - December 17 This saint was daughter of Pepin of Landen, eldest sister to Saint Gertrude of Nivelle, and married Ansegise, son to Saint Arnoul, who was some time mayor of the palace, and afterwards bishop of Metz. Her husband being killed in hunting, she dedicated herself to a penitential state of retirement, and, after performing a pilgrimage to Rome, built seven chapels at Anden on the Meuse, in imitation of the seven principal churches at Rome. There she also founded a great nunnery in imitation of that which her sister governed at Nivelle, from which she was furnished with a little colony who laid the foundation of this monastery, and lived under her direction. Many holy virgins were trained up by them in the perfect practice of piety. The rich monastery of Anden was afterwards converted into a collegiate church of thirty-two canonesses of noble families, with ten canons to officiate at the altar. It is situate in the forest of Ardenne, in the diocess …More
The French Ministry of Education started a series of controls in Catholic private schools, carried out mainly in late 2025. The issue gained national attention following a parliamentary hearing of Guillaume Prévost, Secretary General of Catholic Education, held on December 2. Prévost presented feedback collected from school heads and teachers. On December 8, the Secretariat General of Catholic Education published a 14-page document summarizing incidents. They include: Intrusive questioning Inspectors asked young students and staff intrusive questions about their religious beliefs and practices, including about attendance at mass and private spiritual life. Searches and documentation Inspectors searched pupils’ belongings, such as schoolbags, and examined or photographed private materials, including spiritual journals or documents. Questioning of very young pupils Children were questioned without the presence of a neutral adult. Undermining the Catholic identity Certain inspection …More
Teachers allege inspectors interrogated children about religious practice, searched belongings, and entered classrooms unannounced, despite legal protections for Catholic schools in France.
Oh Maria! The hours are counted, and they pass quickly, although still slow for your desires and ours. Make our hearts be attentive with greater effort, just purify them with your maternal suffrages, so that if nothing puts obstacles in the solemn moment to the race of Emmanuel as he leaves of your virginal womb, nothing delays, likewise, the entry into our hearts prepared by diligent waiting." Amen. Dom Gueramguer
Professor James Tour from Rice University, in Houston, Texas, is internationally known and respected among organic chemists. In the interview linked below, he talks to Carlson about the theory evolution that is commonplace thinking and taught in our educational institutions. Except that he thinks it's a myth. He also talks about super human beings, the dangers of genetic engineering and how little we know about the complexities and origin of life. What I found most interesting is that Tour as a respected scientist isn't afraid to share his belief in God. He's a Christian but was born in a Jewish family. He believes that science supports the idea of a creator. Science and faith are not mutually exclusive. Science can help answer the questions of faith. In fact, Tour argues that science provides much evidence for belief. Amway, watch the interview and come to your own conclusion. From the Gospel of St. John 1:1-14: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word …
Pope Leo XIV has appointed Auxiliary Bishop Ramón Bejarano of San Diego as the new Bishop of Monterey, California. Born on July 17, 1969, in Laredo, Texas, Monsignor Bejarano was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Stockton on August 15, 1998. On February 27, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him Auxiliary Bishop of San Diego, run by Cardinal Robert McElroy, one of the most progressive prelates in the American hierarchy. “All Are Welcome” Eucharist In June 2024, Bishop Bejarano presided over an “All Are Welcome” Eucharist at St. John the Evangelist Parish in San Diego. The service was presented as an outreach to practicing homosexuals. At the end of the service, he offered a special blessing for homosexuals: "Help us embrace that our beloved LGBTQ+ siblings and all who feel marginalized by the Church are beautifully and wonderfully made in Your image." He continued: "Bless our LGBTQ ministry so that we may continue to grow by your grace and bring all people to the knowledge and love …More

@Agatha James Scary stuff! I got stuck at the demons part. " Resist the devil, and the devil will be your friend!" According to Venerable Mary of Agreda any demon would instantaneously destroy the whole human race if God allowed it to! Oh brother!
