Larry Johnson, a CIA veteran, has described Francis’ meeting with Vladimir Zelenski, a “grotesque farce” and “not a good look” for Francis.
Writing on his blog Sonar21.com, Johnson stresses that Francis has met a man who is involved in a “broad-based attack on the priests and bishops of the Orthodox community in Ukraine and their churches and monasteries.”
The “best part of it all” for Johnson is that Zelenski was wearing a sweater with the emblem from the Nazi “Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists”.
For Johnson, Francis' “silence on the religious persecution underway in Ukraine is another black mark on his tawdry legacy.”
