A conservative is NOT what the Vatican would want (for obvious reasons) and a strong-willed progressive like Pope Francis brings his own kind of unique problems. The College of Cardinals would probably want the next pope to be more puppet-like, more malleable.... yet joyous and personable and gigglingl and dancing and crying and upbeat...

Cardinal Eijk is conservative and believes in defending the faith. He removed a transgender parish administrator against the parish council's wishes, and ruled against divorced and remarried Catholics being admitted to Holy Communion, and criticizes priests and bishops for not defending Apostolic Tradition. Definately papabile!
