Former Vatican Spokesman: Benedict XVI Ready For Encounter With God

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, 95, “feels ready for the definitive encounter” with God, former Director of the Vatican Press Office (2006-2016), Father Federico Lombardi SJ, 79, told Avvenire.it (August 22), the Italian bishops’ homosex newspaper.

Lombardi added that he saw Benedict XVI last time on May 6.

Benedict XVI “retains a formidable mental clarity,” according to Lombardi. “He has a really remarkable memory and capacity to connect for his age.”

I regret that he was not able to remain pope so as to have helped prepare all members of the Church for our 'encounter with the Lord' rather than to have left us to the 'definitive' debacle we are currently in now under his 'follow-up' (I am hard pressed to call such a failure a 'success-or').

No, it is a photo of the great Benedict XVI with Lombardi. And it's not a label around his neck.... rather Benedict XVI is holding a copy of his book, and the chain around his neck is his pectoral cross in the background. The book is covering it up.

No Pope in the history of the Church reached 95 !!! If he had not quit, we would have not had to suffer thru 9 years of Bergoglio😡😡

Is that a photo of him with Bergoglio? It looks just like a label put around the neck of a child in WW2 being sent away to safety. Who put it on him - I don’t believe he put it on himself. It looks like a noose. God help Pope Benedict.
