A very holy priest and I heard it elsewhere said that the only difference between purgatory and hell was that in Purgatory you will know and have the happiness ..that one day you will get out..and get to Heaven.. The pains in Purgatory though …are extreme .. but can be shortened by the prayers and penances of those on earth ..Hence their dire need of our prayer. Can I erase my comment from 2015 regarding Pope Francis?! I do not feel this way at all. I was taught to always pray for priest, bishops, cardinals and the Pope because the devil goes after them the hardest. This Jesuit Pope scares me. But will continue to pray for him. But wouldn't it help America if all Catholics were going to Confession?! Priest like Fr. Altman etc. go to each city and listen to confessions. So many times their is a narrow window for confessions. I know, I am dreaming....
