On 13 May, professors, students, collaborators and various friends of the institute took part in the centenary celebration event of the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum in Jerusalem. The scientific institution for the research and academic teaching of Holy Scripture and biblical archaeology is indeed 100 years old.

Fra Angelico - Christ in Limbo
Fra Angelico decorated the Convent of Saint Mark in Florence, adorning it twice with the representation of the Descent of Christ to Limbo. The first, autographed by Fra Angelico, is found in the Armadio degli Argenti, the Wardrobe of the Silversmiths; the second, where scholars recognise the help of his pupils, is frescoed in cell 31 of the convent. This room was reserved for the lay brothers, who were to draw, from the example of the Saviour's life, reason to meditate on the ultimate meaning of their works. Sister Cecilia Maria of the Holy Face was a Carmelite nun who died in 2016 after battling cancer. Her story made headlines when a photo of her smiling on her hospital bed went viral all over social media.
Her testimony of love and trust in Jesus Christ, even in the midst of the hardest trials, has awakened in many hearts the desire for a greater commitment to Christian life.
