China consecrates bishop approved by Pope Leo XIV under Vatican-China deal

Leo XIV Again Ratified the Chinese Government's Unilateral Decision to Ordain Bishop

On 15 October, Chinese state bishops ordained Father Joseph Wu Jianlin as auxiliary bishop in St. Ignatius Cathedral in Shanghai.
This appointment was made just one week after the death of Francis on 28 April. It was made without the approval of the Vatican, thus violating the secret agreement between the Holy See and Beijing on episcopal appointments.
Earlier in October, the Diocese of Shanghai had notified all priests and nuns in the diocese that they must attend a liturgy on 15 October, without specifying the reason.
According to today's Vatican bulletin, Pope Leo XIV ratified the Chinese appointment on 11 August.
The public was informed that the 2018 secret agreement guaranteed that the Pope would have 'the final say' in the appointment of bishops. However, the Vatican has almost always simply accepted Beijing's decisions.
Nevertheless, on 10 October, Cardinal Piero Parolin described the secret agreement as 'a positive step' on the sidelines of a conference at Urbaniana University.…More

Rupnik judges appointed to tribunal 🇻🇦

Canonical Trial Against Marko Rupnik Has Started with Judges Named

On Thursday, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith appointed five judges to form the tribunal that will handle the case of Father Marko Rupnik.
According to an October 13 statement , the panel includes women and priests from outside the Vatican bureaucracy, in order to guarantee the trial's independence.
Fr Rupnik has been accused by multiple nuns of sexual, spiritual, and psychological abuse. The testimonies are graphic, sadistic, perverted, and blasphemous.
The Rupnik case has badly tarnished Francis's legacy, known for protecting sex offenders.
It was only in late 2022 that the Rupnik scandal exploded, thanks to the Italian blogs MessaInLatino and SilereNonPossum.
Despite damning evidence, Rupnik has not admitted anything or responded in any way.

On Friday afternoon, October 10, 2025, a man got onto the platform of the high altar of St. Peter's Basilica and took off his pants and underwear. He appeared to be getting ready to urinate before two men escorted him off the platform.

The Church of England decided this week to cover the interior of the oldest cathedral in England in graffiti in order to represent the voices of “marginalised communities.” The Very Rev David Monteith, Dean of Canterbury, said: “There is a rawness which is magnified by the graffiti style, which is disruptive. It is unfiltered and not sanitised.” “This exhibition intentionally builds bridges between cultures, styles and genres and allows us to receive the gifts of younger people who have much to say.” It’s actually stunning how much the elite of Britain hate their own culture and civilisation. You couldn’t even invent this as satire. They are literally scrawling graffiti on the walls of ancient cathedrals. Everything beautiful is just torn down and destroyed.

Leo XIV issues first apostolic exhortation 🇻🇦

Leo XIV Continues Francis’s Distorted Vision for the Church in First Exhortation 'Dilexi Te'

The Vatican today published Pope Leo XIV’s first Apostolic Exhortation, Dilexi Te (“I Have Loved You”).
The document employs rhetoric influenced by Marxist social theory and presents “care for the poor” as the Church’s primary mission. Divided into five chapters and 121 numbered paragraphs, it is notably shorter than most recent papal texts.
Leo XIV writes that the text was started by Francis: "I am happy to make this document my own — adding some reflections — and to issue it at the beginning of my own pontificate, since I share the desire of my beloved predecessor that all Christians come to appreciate the close connection between Christ’s love and his summons to care for the poor."
Questionable Quotes
Leo XIV:
"Jesus identified himself with the lowest ranks of society." (§2)
Christ:, descendant of King David: "I and the Father are one."
Leo XIV: "It is to be welcomed that the United Nations has made the eradication of poverty one of its Millennium Goals." (§10)
Christ: "The poor …More

In an accompanying handwritten note to bishops, he writes: "Dear Brother in Christ, It is with great joy that I write to you, following a practice begun by Pope Francis more than ten years ago, associating the entire Episcopal College at important moments of Papal Magisterium. May “Dilexi te” help the Church to serve the poor and help bring the poor to Christ. Fraternally in Christ, Leo PP. XIV"

Swiss Bishop of Geneva, Charles Morerod, says Vatican approves of his decision to put lay men and women in diocesan leadership roles, was told he could even name them 'vicars'

Vatican Permits Lay People as Bishops’ "Vicars"

Since 2020, Bishop Charles Morerod of Lausanne, Geneva, and Fribourg in Switzerland has repeatedly appointed lay people instead of priests to lead diocesan regions.
According to Kath.ch on 7 October, he stated that this had caused "a minor earthquake" among Catholics.
An unnamed representative of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith informed Bishop Morerod that his decision had been criticised internationally, particularly in Italy and English-speaking countries.
The Congregation assured Bishop Morerod of its support, dismissing the justified criticism as "false rumours".
Furthermore, the Congregation has sent letters to the nunciatures, asking them to deny the "rumours" and support the bishop.
The Congregation has even permitted Bishop Morerod to appoint laypeople as "vicars".
However, Bishop Morerod has not done so. "We are still in a kind of start-up phase, even though many positive aspects are already becoming apparent," he said.

Pope Leo XIV has made the long-awaited appointments of new bishops for Belgium’s dioceses of Namur and Tournai.

Leo XIV Appoints Two Belgian Bishops: "Listening", "Building Bridges", and "Developing Identities"

Pope Leo XIV has appointed new bishops to the dioceses of Namur and Tournai in Belgium.
- Father Fabien Lejeusne, a 52-year-old Assumptionist priest, has been appointed bishop of Namur, succeeding 77-year-old Monsignor Pierre Warin.
- Father Frédéric Rossignol, a 51-year-old Spiritan Father, will take over the Tournai diocese from Monsignor Guy Harpigny, who is also 77.
These appointments are unusual. Neither Lejeusne nor Rossignol are members of the diocesan clergy. They are not originally from the diocese to which they have been appointed. Furthermore, they are both relatively unknown figures within the Belgian Church.
The two will be consecrated as bishops in December: Lejeusne on 7 December in Namur and Rossignol on 14 December in Tournai.

Four Bishops Offer Act of Reparation for Homosexual Desecration of St. Peter’s Basilica

In response to the 'LGBTQ+ Pilgrimage' on 6 September in the Vatican, four bishops prayed an Act of Reparation. Led by Bishop Athanasius Schneider, the Act was also prayed by Bishops Marian Eleganti (Switzerland), Robert Mutsaerts (the Netherlands) and Joseph Strickland (USA). It took place at the ‘Catholic Identity Conference’ in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on 4 October 2025.

Cardinal Pizzaballa writes to Jerusalem diocese re news of potential peace deal. “It is precisely here that, as Church, we are called to speak a word of hope, to have the courage to offer a narrative that opens horizons and builds rather than destroys, both in the language we use and in the gestures we make. In this dramatic time, our Church is called with renewed energy to witness her faith in the passion and resurrection of Jesus. Our decision to remain, when everything urges us to leave, is not a challenge but an act of love. Our denouncing is not an offense to any party but a call to dare a different path from the reckoning. Our dying took place under the cross, not on a battlefield.”

Statement from CatholicVote President Kelsey Reinhardt on Senator Durbin withdrawing from Cardinal Cupich’s award:

"The importance of Senator Durbin declining the award offered by Cardinal Cupich cannot be overstated. Not only was the public outcry enormous—in just a week, 40,000 people messaged the Cardinal’s office from CatholicVote alone—he came to see what the Cardinal did not: Catholics are the backbone of the pro-life movement and they will stand and witness to life at every turn. Pope Leo said he did not have all the facts. But one man did: Bishop Paprocki. As Durbin’s shepherd, he has dialogued, discussed and carefully made the decision to prohibit the senator from receiving Holy Communion, something infinitely more valuable than an achievement award. We respect the judgment of the bishop closest to the facts and look forward to informing Pope Leo about Durbin’s decades-long pro-abortion, pro-transgender stance."

Of course I hate abortion (genocide of unborn children). However, of course, I support the death penalty for criminals. In some countries, the death penalty is banned. It should be allowed. But abortion, on the contrary, should be banned everywhere. The conciliar-synodal church does not profess the Catholic Faith, which is why this person has such a monstrous mess in his head.

Conflating murder of the innocent with the just severe punishment of the wicked by legitimate authority is not consistent with a rational mind and therefore not Catholic.

The story follows Ming, a Christian in China who risks arrest by secretly distributing Bibles. In a country with half the world’s surveillance cameras and strict controls on religion—including mandatory CCTV in churches and bans on buying Bibles online—Ming faced heavy scrutiny. His smuggling operation was eventually exposed, partners were jailed, and he lived under oppressive monitoring, feeling isolated and unsafe. Despite this, support and encouragement from others helped Ming continue his ministry. He remains committed to sharing God’s word, trusting in God’s guidance even under risk.

Why do undocumented migrants need protection…are they all just simple people looking to work and a better life or are they something else….where do all those children they bring in wind up…who is taking care of them…or are they being used as pawns, as tickets….

I agree with thee Cardinal. This is another polarizing step towards martial law and the rise of the Fourth Reich. Everyone needs to remember the US Government let the illegals in. They need to have a humanitarian way in which to solve this crisis but that doesn't fit into the US Government's divide and conquer scheme.
