John Paul I: Another Botched Beatification
Francis on September 4 "beatified" John Paul I, a fighter against the Roman Mass who governed the Church for 33 days in 1978.
Often angry, impatient and grumpy, Francis complained in his homily about a Church that complains, is angry or impatient and looks grumpy or “suffers from nostalgia for the past” - as he is nostalgic for the ideology of the 1960s.
The beatification was staged in Saint Peter's Square in presence of a very small crowd, impressive proof that there is no popular veneration for John Paul I although this is a sine qua non for a beatification.
During the liturgy, a handwritten spiritual reflection from 1956 was used as second class relic. At the end of the beatification, Francis warmly greeted cardinals, including Becciu whom he condemned without due process, and Sarah whom he removed as quickly as possible but now theatrically asked about an injury to his right hand.

He was so in love with the Vatican II revolution that he took the unprecedented step of adopting a double name - John Paul - because he wanted to honor both John XXIII and Paul VI.
Let's remember: It is one single man, Francis, who canonized John XXIII, Paul VI, and John Paul II, and beatified John Paul I.
"...there is no popular veneration for John Paul I although this is a sine qua non for a beatification." Was there popular veneration for JP II? Certainly. For John XXIII? Yes, but only among liberals. For Paul VI? None at all.
Vatican II is now a sort of "positive Tar Baby." You want to get a lot of it on you and not rub it off; and canonization will likely await you.
