Speaking to journalists during his flight from Baku, Azerbaijan, to Rome Pope Francis claimed that Catholics must discern sexual morality on a case-by-case basis, even when presented with a person who is considering gender mutilation surgery. This means that, according to the Pope, gender mutilation surgery is ok. He came close to a blasphemy by claiming that - quote - "This is what Jesus would do today."
Heretic: In September, Pope Francis named 56-year-old Father Oscar Eduardo Miñarro as the auxiliary bishop of the diocese of Merlo-Moreno in Argentina. In the past Miñarro signed a manifesto that asked to abolish celibacy and priestly vestments and to introduce changes in the liturgy in order to express the ideology of poverty. In 2012 he said that for him there are – quote – "no certainties” and that nobody can tell whether an embryo has life or not. Miñarro is also in favor or homosex pseudo-marriages.
Persecution: A 34-year-old former nun of the Carmel in Nogoyá, Argentine, has accused the prioress of torture because she introduced the ex-nun into the usual penitential practice of the Carmel. On August 25th the police literally broke into the cloister of the nuns and removed whips and cilices. The nuns of the Carmel support their prioress and so does the local archbishop of Paraná. She risks 4 to 15 years in prison. The sisters of the Carmel even published videos in which they show the absurdity of the accusations.
Unscientific: “The New Atlantis: A Journal of Technology and Society” published a new report on sexuality which found that very little of contemporary knowledge in the area of sexuality is supported by scientific evidence. The study confirmed, however, that the finding that homosexual individuals have higher rates of mental health problems is scientifically proven, while the common attribution of such findings to the effects of social stigma as the only or primary cause is not supported by scientific data.

Jeden francouzský tatínek mi vyprávěl, jak se u stolu bavili s dětmi. Je to katolík, manželka i děti jsou katolíci – sice poněkud povrchní, ale katolíci – a tatínek se zeptal desetiletého syna, co z něj bude, až vyroste. „Holčička“, zněla odpověď. Onen otec pak zjistil, že v učebnicích jeho dětí se vyučuje teorie genderu, což je proti přirozenosti. Něco jiného je, pokud člověk má tyto sklony, které mohou vyústit ve změnu pohlaví. A něco jiného je vyučovat v tomto směru ve školách, aby postupně docházelo ke změně mentality. Něčemu takovému říkám „ideologické kolonizace“. Vloni jsem dostal dopis od jednoho Španěla, který mi vyprávěl svůj příběh z dětství a mládí. Byl holčičkou a potom dívkou, ale velmi trpěl, protože se cítil jako muž, i když fyzicky byl ženou. Když mu bylo dvaadvacet let, řekl mamince, že podstoupí chirurgický zákrok a podobně. Maminka ho požádala, aby to nedělal za jejího života. Byla už velmi stará a zanedlouho zemřela. Tento muž podstoupil zákrok a dnes pracuje jako úředník ministerstva v jednom španělském městě. Dostavil se za biskupem, který mu velmi pomohl. Byl to schopný biskup, který – v uvozovkách – plýtval časem, aby doprovázel tohoto člověka. Pisatel dopisu pak změnil občanskou totožnost, oženil se a napsal mi, že by pro něj bylo útěchou, kdyby za mnou mohli přijet spolu s manželkou. Přijal jsem je a byli moc rádi. Tu je foto:

Vyprávěl mi, že ve čtvrti, kde dříve bydlel, byl jeden starý, osmdesátiletý kněz, bývalý farář, který odešel z farnosti a vypomáhal u sester. A pak tam byl mladý farář. Když tohoto muže potkal, křičel na něj na chodníku: „Půjdeš do pekla!“ Když ale potkal starého faráře, říkal mu: „Odkdy už jsi nebyl u zpovědi? Ale jen pojď, vyzpovídám tě, a tak budeš moci jít k přijímání“. Rozumíte? Život je život a je třeba jej brát tak, jak přichází. Hřích je hřích. Sklony a hormonální nerovnováha působí mnoho problémů a je třeba dávat pozor, abychom neřekli: Vlastně je to všechno jedno, tak oslavujme. Ne, tak ne. V každém případě ale člověka přijmout, doprovázet ho, zabývat se jeho případem, rozlišovat a integrovat. Tak by dnes jednal Ježíš. Prosím vás, nepište hned: Papež dává posvěcení transsexuálům! Už vidím ty první stránky novin. Jsou nějaké pochybnosti o tom, co jsem řekl? Chtěl bych mluvit jasně. Je to morální problém. Je to problém. Je to lidský problém. A je třeba jej řešit, jak je to možné – a to vždy v Božím milosrdenství, v pravdě, s jakou jsme mluvili o manželství v kontextu četby celé Amoris laetitia, a vždy s otevřeným srdcem.
