Now More Than Ever! Archbishop Schedules Roman Apostolic Mass at His Cathedral

San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone instituted a monthly Roman Mass at his Cathedral. It will be celebrated on the first Wednesday of the month at 3 p.m.

The Mass will take place on the feast of St Dominic, August 4, and will be celebrated in the Dominican Rite.

The Roman Mass was established as a response to “requests from the faithful" (= pastoral reasons) and an "overwhelming response" to a first Roman Mass which was celebrated in July in the cathedral.

It is hard to get too excited over once a month at 3 when most people are taking a nap after Sunday dinner . If you want to be a fence straddler I guess this is the way to go.But let me remind all that Our Lord advised us to be hot or cold...fence straddlers,well you know the rest.

That is the ACT the Catholic world and the Lord HimSelf wait upon this Archbishop to do. Let us pray that he will have the courage to act! So far, there are NO hierarchs in the Catholic Church willing to protect Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament from this weekly sacrilege being committed against Him by openly, pro-abort "Catholic" politicians. Words and arguments are cheap. Action is what really matters.

"- it does not cost him a thing." Not so, @DrMaria . The Archbishop risks the direct, if publicly unspoken wrath of the Pope himself. El Francesco has made it very clear his preference is that all clergy at the rank of Bishop and above outright ban the Latin Mass entirely. If the Archbishop isn't doing that, how about giving him a smidgeon of credit for that? ;-)

Actually this is par for the course for Arch Cordelione to choose a "showy" path that looks "good" to deflect from the real evil going on in his Archdiocese. He has allowed the San Francisco Gay Mens Chorus, "We're coming for your children" group, to perform in front of the Blessed Sacrament at St. Ignatius Church on the campus of the University of San Francisco at least twice in recent years - the last time being this past July 24. Risking the ire of Francis is nothing in comparison to allowing ongoing blasphemies and sacrileges against Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament to go on under his watch.

One Wednesday per month? No Sundays, obligatory feasts, etc. It seems that it is a show gesture just to make Bergoglio cross. However, we will see the fruits.
The Dominican Rite is not the Roman one, though very similar. Therefore, 50-year Traditionis Custodes do not apply.
