The way Eucharists are prepared and presided over needs to change, San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone told CatholicNewsAgency.com (November 20). For instance, the faithful should go to confession more often and be better prepared to receive Communion respectfully.
Cordileone's assessment of the situation is damning, “Never has Communion been treated so casually, in any of the Apostolic Churches, in any of the Eastern Rites, or in the West."
Asked if the "only way" to receive Communion properly and respectfully was to receive it - instead of pushing it into the mouth with the hand - Cordileone replied, “I wonder the same thing.”
"It's a lot more challenging to preserve reverence for the Eucharist when it's given in the hands,” he explains what is obvious. On Mondays, priests find hosts on the floor, under the pews, or between the pages of the hymnals. As a pastor, Cordileone used ushers next to the priest to make sure people did not run off with the host.

It is sickening to think that, over the course of only about 20 years, the Eucharistic discipline went from fasting from midnight (with no exception); never even considering receiving in a state of sin; receiving kneeling and on the tongue; to by the late seventies, at the latest (the fast was reduced in the ‘60s); Eucharistic fast reduced to one hour before receiving communion, with exceptions …More
It is sickening to think that, over the course of only about 20 years, the Eucharistic discipline went from fasting from midnight (with no exception); never even considering receiving in a state of sin; receiving kneeling and on the tongue; to by the late seventies, at the latest (the fast was reduced in the ‘60s); Eucharistic fast reduced to one hour before receiving communion, with exceptions for water and medicine (meaning that there is really no fasting required on Sunday, at least, and one hour is not enough time to put one’s body into a fast); Confession falling into disuse, despite the fact that people receive communion more than ever (if they still go to church); people are permitted to receive in basically whatever manner they want. All of this was done at the prompting of priests and bishops. It is horrible.

The fruit of the NO is that people cease to believe as Catholics. The archbishop should not be surprised. The only solution is to put the NO is the garbage where it belongs and go back to the faith of our Fathers.

God bless Archbishop Cordileone

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty deluded.
I find myself doing a myriad of things rather than getting myself to daily Mass
The Mass is the New & Eternal Covenant. It embodies God's new relationship with man until the end of time. This was, and is Christ's call to you as a Catholic--
Worship Him at the sacrifice of the Mass.

I always feel close to God at the Roman Rite Tridentine Latin Mass, but NEVER at the Novus Ordo. I'm 32, and sorry to say, resent the Catholic Church turning into something that I dislike, and having a Pope who is a heretic. I'm just a highschool teacher, and rarely go to Mass, unless it is the Tridentine Latin Mass. But I think I would have been a much better person and Catholic, had the Church been the same as it was in the 1950's, and for 1,000 years before that !😭

But where to start, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone? Remember distribution of Holy Communion at the 'Papal' Mass in Manila; January 2015?

And don't forget World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in July 2013 where Frances presided over plastic cups as sacred vessels, bikinis, and beach balls everywhere - ¡Hagan lío!
