During a November 12 audience to the participants at the Plenary Assembly of the Dicastery for Communication, Francis mentioned the US homosexualist James Martin who was present at the meeting.

I see [the homosexualist] James Martin here. "Ah, yes, this one is a worker...". Yes, but he wrote a book called Learning to Pray. Read it because it teaches you how to pray.

This is a man who has values [sic], a communicator who also knows how to teach you the way to communicate with God. To be a communicator is this. To go, to walk, to risk, with values, convinced that I am giving my life with my values, Christian values [sic], and human values [sic].
