Do you wear a wool scapular?
I believe the Brown Scapular has to be wool dyed brown for one to obtain the indulgences associated with it. Also it has to be worn, not just carried on one's person. Plus it cannot have any protective plastic cover. However it doesn't need to touch one's skin, so could be worn either inside or outside one's clothes.

Es muss lt. Kirche im Auftrag der Muttergottes aus reiner Wolle sein. Zumindest der Stoffteil hinter dem Bild.
Dann muss es von einem GÜLTIG geweihten Priester mit einem bestimmten Weihegebet beim ersten Mal umgelegt werden.
(Darum wurde es mir nach meinem Weggang von der Konsilskirche mit den ungültig geweihten Priestern ein zweites Mal umgelegt und gegen ein gültiges Wollskapulier ausgetauscht.)
Bei einem evtl. späteren Austausch muss das Weihegebet des Priesters nicht wiederholt werden.
Man darf es nie ablegen, (ausser man muss - z.B. bei einer OP.)
Damit man die Gnaden bekommt, welche die Muttergottes dem Hl. Simon Stock versprach, muss man ausser einem wirklich christlichen Leben noch ein Gelübde halten:
Entweder jeden Tag den Rosenkranz beten oder Mittwoch. Freitag und Samstag kein Fleisch essen.
Man darf auch beides tun.
