This evening, Pope Leo XIV left Castel Gandolfo slightly later than usual. He came out and went toward the faithful, offering nothing to the journalists who were ready with their usual provocative and senseless questions. And, of course — true to form — they are now rushing to criticize him.
Long may this continue.
To be fair, Cardinal Robert Prevost before becoming Pope Leo XIV said the exact same thing in Nov. 2023 at the Catholic University of Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo. Which is why I said 'nightmare' when he was elected...
Of course I hate abortion (genocide of unborn children). However, of course, I support the death penalty for criminals. In some countries, the death penalty is banned. It should be allowed. But abortion, on the contrary, should be banned everywhere. The conciliar-synodal church does not profess the Catholic Faith, which is why this person has such a monstrous mess in his head.
Conflating murder of the innocent with the just severe punishment of the wicked by legitimate authority is not consistent with a rational mind and therefore not Catholic.
In Canada, there’s a growing push to expand euthanasia eligibility to “mature” children who have the “capacity to consent”: “The head of the Quebec College of Physicians and Surgeons testified before Parliament that he thinks it's important that [euthanasia] may be considered for children with severe deformities and abnormalities, as he put it. And the leading euthanasia lobby in Canada has suggested it may be expanded to those ‘mature minors’ who they think have the capacity to consent, maybe along with a parent or guardian agreeing, but are able. So, this is an actual conversation in the policy space across Canada. And we already see the elimination of the requirement for consent with the euthanasia of persons with dementia who might make an advance request but then are unable to really change their mind. Their former self can bind their future self so irrevocably that they are not required to give consent, final consent, which was a former safeguard that we had before the moment …More
Horrific.
Presidents Trump and Putin are to meet in Alaska to discuss the war in Ukraine on August 15th, Feast of the Assumption of Mary, Queen of Peace.
If America had a war with Mexico, would they want Putin to be involved. Of course not. The United States must stop sending arms to Ukraine and the war is over. Ditto for the Middle East.
The way Novus Ordo clergy mock the liturgy and sacraments…. This is off a real clerics Instagram page
The priest is real, I've seen other "skits" done by him. While his intentions are assuredly well-meaning, his Bishop needs to have a serious sit-down with him, issue a Precept -- a Penal Precept if this is not the first time the Bishop has to instruct him -- prohibiting him from misusing means of social communication. I suspect that the "influencer" priest Fr. Casey Cole, OFM, was a bad influence on this young priest.
I'm all for jokes, and I love good humor. Its better to be a happy warrior than an angry and depressed one. But, if this is a real priest, you don't mock God or the sacraments, those are off limits!
"While firm numbers are hard to come by, Namugongo's celebration of the Feast of the Uganda Martyrs on June 3 is almost certainly among the largest annual religious gatherings in the world. Attendance estimates range from 500,000 to the low millions. The feast is a national holiday, and the full event is covered on national television. ... Pilgrims from Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda, many of whom walk the whole distance on pilgrimages lasting as long as two weeks, travel to the shrine for a massive annual celebration on June 3, the date when St. Charles Lwanga and many of the Uganda martyrs were killed. .. The feast is preceded by a nine-day novena. Smaller groups gather for prayer in different places. Masses and services run through the night on the eve of the feast. On the feast day, Mass runs about five hours, starting at 10 a.m."
Very beautiful and moving.
Leo XIV prays in silence at the tomb of the Apostle Peter beneath the main altar of St. Peter’s Basilica, accompanied by Eastern Patriarchs, moments before his Inauguration Mass begins. This solemn moment marks the beginning of his Petrine Ministry as Bishop of Rome, connecting him directly to the first Pope
@Malki Tzedek Depends on if he wants to lower the Tariffs or get something from them!
Well maybe not!
