In LOTR, King Theoden asked, “What can men do against such reckless hate?”… Mat 24:12: “And because iniquity hath abounded, the charity of many shall grow cold.” St. Maximilian Kolbe, ora pro nobis!
As a recent convert to the Catholic Church (and a very recent convert to Traditionalism), I’m approaching this Lenten season with a very different set of optics. I’m curious as to what sort of parameters you follow during this season. Currently, I’m leaning towards the obligations required during the days of St. Thomas Aquinas. However, I’m really just trying to get an overall consensus on the proper way to journey through this Holy and important season.
Galatians 1:6-9 DRB. The words of St. Paul: “I wonder that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel. Which is not another, only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema. As we said before, so now I say again: If any one preach to you a gospel, besides that which you have received, let him be anathema.”
As Lent draws nearer, I thought it appropriate to share an app that has helped and motivate me during the days and seasons the Church has ordained for fasting. If you know of other such beneficial helps, I would be glad to hear about them.
Penitential fasting isn’t about health or weight loss, it is mortification of the flesh.Using an app is unnecessary, most of us should fast from technology as well.
Tue Feb 1, 2022 - 11:29 am EST TALLAHASSEE, Florida (LifeSiteNews) — Florida lawmakers have passed a bill that would prohibit future “emergency orders” like those enacted during the COVID-19 response from closing down religious institutions if any businesses are allowed to stay open. Florida’s Republican-led Senate approved the measure (SB 254) in a 31-3 vote Thursday. A companion bill filed in the House, HB 215, was advanced Wednesday and awaits a floor vote. Under the new measure, houses of worship would be considered “essential services” and no emergency order may “directly or indirectly” cancel public religious services so long as any businesses remain open. The move comes after religious groups along with conservative politicians and commentators raised the alarm over the past two years when churches and synagogues were told to close their doors while other businesses, sometimes including liquor stores and marijuana dispensaries, were allowed to remain open. Posted 4 years ago, this video eerily depicts what we are currently facing in the Church and the world. It is worth listening to if you have the time, and while there are very concerning future 'possibilities', yet hope and faith in Our Lord and Our Lady will ultimately provide the triumphant cure.
Two lines from Gates were not included ... one was almost included but they cut it off... BOTH of these two lines are significant... 1) is the well known one where he states that vaccines will be used for population control 2) is where he says 'we will have more pandemics... and the next one (as he looks at his now ex wife) people will notice this time'... yep that is this one - we now notice his population control vaccine plan even if we don't recognise it as such.
