Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Battle of Lepanto
Before setting out, Giovanni Andrea, the Genoese admiral, had hung in his flagship a picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which had been touched to the original image on Juan Diego’s cloak. Pope Pius V was also seeking Mary’s aid through the recitation of the rosary, and when the ships set out from Messina on Sept 16th, all the men on board had rosaries, too.

Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Battle of Lepanto/La Virgen de Guadalupe y la Batalla de Lepanto
(in Spanish with English subtitles)
Teltaminoru on May 31, 2011

SAINT FAUSTINA FORESAW HER CANONISATION MANY YEARS EARLIER
The ceremony of canonisation was described by Sister Faustina in her "Diary" many years before the event. On March 23, 1937, she had a vision in which she saw that the ceremony was taking place simultaneously in Rome and Krakow, although she did not know the invention of television or tele-bridge communication. Thanks to technical and civilizational inventions, the participants of the canonization ceremony on April 30, 2000, whether they were in Rome or in Krakow, could experience it together. Thus, her prophetic vision concerning the canonisation ceremony in Rome and Krakow came true, as well as the prophecy concerning the establishment of the Divine Mercy Feast for the entire Church. This is how Sister Faustina herself described the celebration.

May is the month of expectation ... St. Rita teaches us to hope for miracles.
“May is the month of expectation … the month of hope,” said the great writer Emily Bronte. Indeed, the month of May is famous for its florid beauty, a month of hopefulness and fresh, new beginnings. And so, it is a good time to seek the intercession of St. Rita of Cascia, one of May’s most inspiring saints who can guide us to greater hope in God.
This “patroness of impossible causes,” as she is known, could be called the female counterpart to St. Jude, who is known to be a patron saint of hopeless cases. St. Rita teaches us to hope for miracles.
Her feast day is May 22, and her symbol is the rose.
St. Rita was born in 1381. During her life she was first a wife and mother and then a widow and Augustinian nun. And so, she is a saint who can empathize with many walks of life.
She was a mother of two sons, whom she loved deeply. Her husband was a …More

Michael Shellenberger:
"Poverty is the underlying cause of homelessness, say the mainstream media. But it's not. Poverty has declined steadily for decades as homelessness got worse. And people priced out of their housing for reasons unrelated to addiction or untreated mental illness find another place to live. They don't pitch a tent on the dirtiest and most dangerous sidewalks in America. The reason the problem grew so much worse is that a handful of well-financed ideological activists persuaded cities and states to incentivize homelessness through unconditional cash payments, promises of unconditional free housing, and the decriminalization of shoplifting and open-air drug dealing."
