Leo XIV: "I Still Wonder Why I Was Chosen"
Pope Leo XIV welcomed today around 200 bishops who had been ordained within the past year. Echoing the erroneous [and hypocritical] words of his predecessor, Pope Francis, he stated that "the only authority we have is service - and it is a humble one".
Leo XIV made an impromptu remark, saying that he is still surprised by his new office: "Perhaps some of you are asking yourselves: Why was I chosen? I still ask myself that question," the pontiff said, according to AgenSir.it.
"I thought I should also appear here dressed in black, but...," joked Leo XIV about clothing, adding that until a good four months ago he was "one of them" - [rather: the very powerful Cardinal Prefect for the selection of bishops].

I don't believe him.....he knows!!!
You know why you were chosen, sir. I'd say you're not fooling anyone, but unfortunately you are.
Nothing is less becoming than humility which seems forced or false. (Although I also wonder why he was chosen - barring any (clearly spurious, no doubt!) suggestion that the vote was rigged, of course.)
