Cardinal Raymond Burke, 69, has stated that Pope Francis not only refuses to clarify problems with regard to marriage, the sacraments and intrinsically evil acts “but also increases the confusion”.
Talking to lanuovabq.it (April 5), Burke called Francis’ recent interview with Eugenio Scalfari, 93, “beyond the tolerable”.
For him it is “a source of profound scandal” that an atheist announces “in the name of the Pope” a revolution in the teaching of the Church by declaring that the Pope himself denies the immortality of the human soul and the existence of hell.
Burke calls the response of the Vatican “inadequate”,
“Instead of clearly restating the truth about the immortality of the human soul and of hell, the denial only said that certain words quoted are not of the Pope.”
Burke is “scandalized” by the fact that the Vatican press office declined to say that “the erroneous, even heretical ideas” of the interview are rejected by Francis.

Correction would be applicable to a valid pope. There are theologians who suggest abrogation of current pontificate in the future. Nevertheless, the expanded Petrine ministry which produced the double-pope error should be corrected promptly by the same men who did not support BXVI when attacked and convened the conclave evethough he claimed 'contemplativo' munus and is living as visible pope. „Parvus …More

Cardinal Burke is one of the very few cardinals who stand for the truth and have the courage to remain publicly faithful to the Catholic faith. Who knows the reason why it was not possible for him (or not wise) to make a public correction of the pope. Cardinal Burke is one of the very few cardinals who stand for the truth and have the courage to remain publicly faithful to the Catholic faith. Who knows the reason why it was not possible for him (or not wise) to make a public correction of the pope. Tomorrow he will participate again in a conference in Rome about the dangerous course the Church is following. God Bless Cardinal Burke, you are the voice crying out in the wilderness, how hard must it be to be a true disciple of Christ in such a evil time when not only is the world against Christ but the Pope himself.

So where is the correction, the warning? Cardinals are the counsellors of the Pope and as such have a strict duty to offer him this fraternal correction, a duty whose omission is a mortal sin. The dubia is simply the questions. The formal act of correction must proceed. If such a warning were repeated twice and Pope Francis refused to heed both of these warnings, he would become canonically guilty …More
