Another thought on this. The devil has had an open door into the churches through Catholic Charities, who welcome him and the great sums of money he brings to them. This gives him direct access to influence the members of the parishes. When I was a novus ordo Catholic, I took a social justice class taught by our local Catholic Charities staff. Now I look back on that and see the fulfillment of their goals for population reduction, massive migration, communism - all under the guise of eliminating world poverty.
I agree with you that this is one of the doors through which the devil entered. But there were many other doors. When Blessed Francisco Palau wrote this, "Catholic liberalism", condemned forty times by Blessed Pius IX, was widespread. Modernism followed, then the "new theology", then the Second Vatican Council, and now we see the bottom of hell in the Vatican.
