No Article: German media write that heraldmalaysia.com reports that Pope Francis wants to sack the Cardinal Müller, the prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, and replace him with radical Vienna Cardinal Schönborn. But such a report is nowhere to be found on the mentioned website.

Axe? Robert Mickens writes in the radical National Catholic Reporter that Pope Francis will take revenge on Cardinal Sarah if the latter continues to promote the liturgical reform of the reform. Sarah has recently asked priests to celebrate Mass toward the Lord. Mickens comments: “If Sarah pulls another fast one, don't be surprised if the pope pulls out his axe.”

No Francis Effect: In an interview with a German newspaper, archbishop George Gänswein, former Pope Benedict’s private secretary, has admitted that there is no Francis effect in the Church. Quote: “Seen from the outside, there is no recognizable awakening in the Church.” And: “The statistical data, if they don’t lie, unfortuantely confirm my impression.”

Not Recognized: In an interview with aleteia.org, Lyon Cardinal Barbarin claimed that – quote – “with the Jews, we have one single covenant.” Barbarin forgot to add that the new and eternal Covenant is though not recognized by them.

1. Are those who are saying Müller to Mainz the same ones who said Marini to the SCDW?
2. Müller is in Rome because the German bishops wanted no part of him in Cologne. They don't want him back in Germany.
3. Mickens is a narrow minded liberal ideologue whose only Roman contacts are of his own ideology.More

@Uncle Joe: The website you mention is not the source and in general rather neocon than "reputable". Müller is a priest of the diocese of Mainz and far away from being a true Catholic. Nevertheless Mainz has been so utterly ruined by Lehmann that a nomination of the neocon Müller would cause a big uproar in the diocese. Nevertheless Mainz has been so utterly ruined by Lehmann that a nomination of the neocon Müller would cause a big uproar in the diocese. Lehmann has more than once (and only recently) publicly discredited Müller. I am not sure whether the Vatican wants to upset the liberals of Mainz with Müller's nomination and I am not sure whether Müller would agree to go to Mainz in order to be eaten alive there. Neocons tend to avoid martyrdom.

Dear Abramo,
A mystery, eh?
.
Kath.net is a reputable source and still has this story up - Müller to Mainz and Schönborn fills his spot at the CDF. Mysteriously, the Malaysian Herald has, as you've written, scrubbed the story. The question is why? Did the Vatican muscle the Malaysian Herald to kill the story "or we'll cut you off"...at least for the time being? 👌

.
Background:

“Cardinal” Muller is a native of Mainz
Müller is a former student of “Cardinal” Karl Lehmann, who just resigned as “Bishop” of Mainz
There have been credible reports of an ongoing enmity between Francis and Müller which, of course, is officially denied
Francis pointed to “Cardinal” Schönborn interpretation of Amoris Laetitia as being the authoritative and correct one
Schönborn is already a member of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith
.
Müller has repeatedly spoken out against adultery, something effectively sanctioned by A.L. On other hand, Schonborn has publicly expressed support for homo-couples and has even expressed delight at a transvestite blasphemer’s victory in a European song contest. 🤦
.
I believe the reappointment is going to happen but evidently, for whatever reason, the Vatican believes the time is not right to announce it. 🧐

@Uncle Joe: All the articles refer to the Malaysia Herald as the primary source, only there is nothing on the Malaysia Herald.
