I've not been since covid hit. Praying to be able to go back soon! I get so upset about what has happened to the Fatima Shrine. There are so many people who see what has happened at Fatima that way. Right after the new Basilica was finished, I happened to be in the local Post Office and a peasant Portuguese woman was in tears. I went over to see if I I could help. She told me she, along with so many others, had contributed their hard earned money to help build this place - and that she had spent the little money she had to travel there with her grandchildren to see it. She was in tears over the horror of what she saw - it's ugliness and offense to Our Lady of Fatima was so disturbing to her. I'll never forget that. The Portuguese people have such great love for Our Lady. I did later learn that it was indeed the masons who had influenced the hierarchy in the building of the monstrosity.
