Leo XIV Personally Intervened Against Rupnik’s Art, But…

Leo XIV personally intervened to stop VaticanNews.va from using the artwork of Father Marko Rupnik, according to Bishop Jean-Marc Micas of Tarbes and Lourdes.
Rupnik has been accused by numerous women of fornication and sexual, spiritual and psychological abuse.
In an interview with Paris Match (August 31), Bishop Micas described a private audience with Leo XIV in June 2025. The pope asked him how Lourdes was dealing with Rupnik’s asymmetrical mosaics and the big black eyes.
Leo XIV supported the bishop’s approach to cover the mosaics. Then, Leo XIV mentioned that he had instructed the Holy See’s communications office to stop using Rupnik’s mosaics to illustrate articles. “He is truly very determined on this issue,” Bishop Micas said.
Rupnik’s work quietly disappeared from VaticanNews.va in June 2025, shortly after Leo XIV’s election.
However, the canonical case against the Slovenian priest remains ongoing and is clearly delayed, even years after the allegations against him became public …ਹੋਰ

Madonna of Tears of Syracuse
The Basilica of the Madonna delle Lacrime (Sanctuary of the Virgin of Tears), also called Madonnina delle Lacrime is a 20th-century Roman Catholic Marian shrine church in Syracuse in Sicily, Italy. The modern building, derided by some as an inverted ice-cream cone, dominates the skyline of the approach to Ortigia.

Spanish Bishop Threatens Resignation Over Virgin’s Place at Opus Dei Sanctuary

Bishop Ángel Javier Pérez Pueyo of Barbastro-Monzón, Spain, has said he would offer his resignation rather than sign a settlement under which the statue of Our Lady of the Angels of Torreciudad remains permanently at the Opus Dei sanctuary.
The bishop drew his red line in a public letter on 31 August, ahead of the image’s return to its ancient hermitage on 5 September for the 47th Pilgrimage of the Virgins of Ribagorza and Sobrarbe.
That return is temporary. It has been authorized by Archbishop Alejandro Arellano Cedillo, the pontifical commissioner for Torreciudad.
After the pilgrimage, the image is due to return to the sanctuary.
Bishop Pérez Pueyo’s threat concerns the final settlement: he refuses to accept an arrangement under which the statue remains there permanently and returns to the hermitage only on special occasions.
He would "never sign such an unlikely act of plundering your dignity," he wrote, adding he would instead offer his resignation.
The dispute has effectively been …ਹੋਰ

EWTN is reporting the so-called “Coalition of Catholics Against Antisemitism” (CCAA) has been “tapped by the Government of Israel as part of its latest outreach to American Catholics.” A high-ranking Israeli official, Tammy Ben-Haim, met in May with the head of the CCAA Simone Rizkallah in Washington, DC. Rizkallah previously received funding from billionaire, Jewish activist Paul Singer and is currently affiliated with the “Tikvah Fund.” Rizkallah said in the article Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs wanted to “design a trip specifically for Catholic leaders, [so] it made sense that they would reach out to us.”

In fight against antisemitism, Israel steps up U.S. Catholic outreach

JERUSALEM — The Coalition of Catholics Against Antisemitism (CCAA), a lay-led U.S. organization established in late 2023 that “affirms the right of the Jewish people to live safely and securely in their ancestral homeland” as well as recognizes that “modern Israel is essential to that security,” has emerged as a leading resource in the Government of Israel’s outreach to American Catholics, who constitute the country’s largest single religious constituency. Tammy Ben-Haim, head of religious and interfaith affairs at Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told EWTN news that a May meeting in Washington, D.C., with CCAA Director Simone Rizkallah, a first-generation American of Egyptian-Armenian descent, convinced her of the importance of engaging the organization and its supporters. “I was so impressed by Simone and the vision she had for the organization to combat antisemitism,” including CCAA’s network of key influencers throughout the American Catholic world, Ben-Haim said. France Requires Life Insurers to Cover Assisted Deaths: France’s new assisted-dying law requires life insurers to pay benefits when a policyholder dies through euthanasia. This applies even when the policy normally excludes suicide during its first year. It also applies to contracts signed before the law took effect. After repeated Senate opposition, the National Assembly approved the euthanasia law on July 15. The Constitutional Council upheld the contested provisions on August 14. The law was promulgated on August 18.

Austrian Bishop Bans FSSPX Rosary at Mariazell Basilica

Bishop Wilhelm Krautwaschl of Graz-Seckau, Austria, has prohibited the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) from holding its annual public Rosary prayer on October 4 inside the Basilica of Mariazell. It is one of the most important Marian shrines in Austria.
The annual ceremony in the basilica included Rosary, Litany of Loreto, Marian hymns and a blessing - but no sacraments.
Fsspx.at announced the decision on August 27, adding that a pilgrimage will take place with a modified program.
The FSSPX’s rosary prayer in Mariazell has existed for half a century. On September 8, 1975, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre led approximately 600 faithful to the Austrian shrine.

"The souls of the wicked after death have their will immutably fixed on evil."

"Whereas the just, whilst in the flesh, look to God as the end of all their deeds and desires, the wicked look to an unlawful end which turns them away from God. Now the separated souls of the just will adhere unchangeably to God as the end to which they looked in this life. Therefore the souls of the wicked will adhere unchangeably to the end which they have chosen for themselves. Hence, as the will of the just will be unchangeable to evil, so the will of the wicked will be unchangeable to the good."

Stop the Massacres” - Nigerian Bishops

On August 27, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria called on the government and security agencies to step up efforts to combat killings and kidnappings following recent attacks in Benue and Niger states.
In a statement titled “Stop the Slaughter in Borgu and Ukum, Stop the Killings in Nigeria,” the bishops said the country was experiencing an “unabated trail of blood and terror” that had reached an “intolerable crest.”
The statement was signed by CBCN President Archbishop Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso of Kaduna.
The bishops cited the recent killing of 47 people in Ukum, Benue State, where another 17 people were critically wounded. They also condemned the abduction of more than 60 Muslim worshippers in Borgu, Niger State.
They called for intelligence-led security operations. The aim is disrupting armed groups before they can carry out attacks. They also demanded the prosecution of the perpetrators and their sponsors, saying that “impunity fuels repetition.”
Furthermore, the bishops …ਹੋਰ

– IRGC Defeats U.S. Strait Clearing Scheme – Moon of Alabama

August 31, 2026 War On Iran: – IRGC Defeats U.S. Strait Clearing Scheme Last Friday, August 28, the U.S. Central Command claimed to have removed all sea mines from the Strait of Hormuz: U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that U.S. forces have cleared Iranian sea mines from the internationally recognized shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz, saying the routes are now open to commercial shipping. … The announcement follows earlier statements by President Donald Trump that U.S. forces had removed or detonated mines in international waters in the strait. Cooper’s latest video provides CENTCOM’s formal operational confirmation that the Traffic Separation Scheme has been cleared. From the position of the U.S. this was, of course, good news. There was the slight problem that no one believed it: U.S. allies have privately assessed that some mines may not have been cleared. Earlier estimates from the International Maritime Organization and industry groups placed the number of mines …

🌈 Cardinal: Traditional Mass Must Yield to Church Unity

“I do deeply sympathise with people whose love of the Tridentine Mass has led them into tension with the hierarchy,” pro-homosexual Cardinal Timothy Radcliffe claimed talking to AdVaticanum.com on August 31.
He called some of them his friends and "hates to see them pained."
However: “But it is good always to remember that the Eucharist is the sacrament of our unity in Christ.”
Cardinal Radcliffe believes that “the sacrament can never become a sign of disunity” with the Church.
His conclusion: “However painful it might be, if the Church declares that a rite is not to be used, however much one might love it, it cannot be good to let its celebration be a source of division.”
Cardinal Radcliffe recommends celebrating the Novus Ordo in Latin “with great dignity and solemnity.”

Anti-Conversion Law: Indian Christians Demand Written Consent Before Prayer Meetings

Some evangelical groups in India’s western state of Maharashtra are asking Christians to sign declarations confirming that they attend prayer meetings voluntarily.
Maharashtra’s Freedom of Religion Law, which targets “forced religious conversions,” took effect on August 28. It prohibits conversions involving force, fraud, coercion, undue influence or inducement.
Christian groups fear its broad provisions could be applied to ordinary religious or charitable activities.
The forms, reported in Mumbai and neighbouring districts, state that Christians attend of their own choice, without pressure, inducement or threats. Some churches also request a photograph and an Aadhaar or PAN identification number.
The declarations are not required by the government. The move follows several disruptions of Christian gatherings. The Indian Express reported nine police cases linked to five incidents between April and July.
Christian leaders say the forms were introduced as protection against allegations …ਹੋਰ
