Conrad Schmitt Studios have provided us with yet another 'before and after' project, this time coming out of the parish church of St. Francis Borgia in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. The present church building was originally constructed in the year 1870 and over the century it underwent at least two renovations; one around the mid-century period, and another following the Second Vatican Council. In the mid-century period it obtained a renovation which essentially modified the church's altars and decoration programme to something more akin to the fads and fashions of the twentieth century liturgical movement; what came in the latter part of the twentieth century was far more radical with decorative paintwork being white-washed over, altars stripped out, and the sanctuary ordering completely changed.
That is the particular face of the church that constitutes what came immediately before the restorative works …

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 14,7-14.
Jesus said to his disciples: “If you know me, then you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip said to him, "Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us."
Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me is doing his works.
Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else, believe because of the works themselves.
Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father.
And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you ask anything of me …

Acts 13:44-52
On the road, there are people who have no idea of what God's presence is like.
It is good to approach them gently and reveal the beauty of God in their hearts.
John 14:7-14
Jesus said to Philip, “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.”
When we realize that the love of God loves us infinitely more than the greatest joy we have ever experienced, we begin to see God.

Ed Pentin, Diane Montagna slam Vatican’s reception of female ‘archbishop’ of Canterbury – Allah's Willing Executioners

Prominent Vatican journalists Edward Pentin and Diane Montagna decried the Vatican’s recent reception and celebration of the Anglican female “archbishop” of Canterbury as scandalous and “absurd.”
Montagna on Monday
quoted from Pope Leo XIV’s address to Sarah Mullally in which he referred to “new problems” that “have arisen in recent decades, rendering the pathway to full communion” between the Catholic Church and Anglicans “more difficult to discern.”
“Of course, chief among these new problems is the fact that a woman dressed in liturgical attire is now being passed off – and celebrated by the Vatican and even by the Pope – as someone who seemingly has valid Orders when she doesn’t – first because she’s a woman and second because she’s an Anglican,” Montagna wrote.
She highlighted the fact that Archbishop Flavio Pace, Secretary of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, had gone so far as to “bow” before her and make the Sign of the Cross “as though receiving a real …

The apostate of infamous memory, Jorge Bergoglio, encouraged his nurse, Massimiliano Strappetti, to receive Communion in a sacrilegious manner.

Francis to Male Caregiver in Concubinage: “Do They Give You Communion?”

“Pope Francis was like a second father to me, and I still miss him deeply,” said his nurse, Massimiliano Strappetti, 56, in an interview with Corriere.it on April 19.
Francis hated hospital stays and joked whenever he had to go to Gemelli Hospital: “You’ll see—the cardinals are preparing the conclave now.”
“Every morning when he woke up, he would ask me, ‘Hello, who died today?’ That was just how he was,” Strappetti recalled.
One day, Strappetti told Francis that he was divorced and living with another woman. The pope replied: “And what’s the problem?”
He then asked: “Do they let you receive Communion? If not, tell me the names of those priests who refuse - I’ll go speak to them myself!”
For Strappetti, Francis was a “surprising” pope.

St. Athanasius, Saint of May 2

I just finished reading a synopsis of the life of St. Athanasius (c. 296-373), who was one of the greatest saints of the Church. Some aspects of his life that I did not know caught my attention, and they seemed appropriate to address with you today.
St. Athanasius
You know that St. Athanasius lived at the time of the Emperor Constantine and his immediate successors. That is, in an epoch when the Church was leaving the catacombs and organizing herself in the light of day. As the persecutions promoted by the pagans declined, the Church suffered another scourge, certainly worse than the pagan persecutions: the scourge of heresies and internal divisions, which we know very well since we are witnessing now something similar with Progressivism inside the Church.
One of the most nefarious heresies of History expanded precisely at the time of St. Athanasius and Constantine: it was the heresy of Arianism. The followers of Arius affirmed that Our Lord Jesus Christ had only a human nature, and was …

What an excellent essay. St. Athanasius uses a similar technique to that used by the prophet Daniel in defending the accused wife (who reminds us so much of a faithful Catholic woman).
St. Athanasius also has a prophetic defense against contraception. (not quoted in this article)
“How can sterile and ignorant persons understand the eternal birth of God?”
The Place of the Patriarchs of Antioch in Church History, by Exarch Elias B. Skaff, 1993, Sophia Press.

"The great chalice had formerly been in the possession of Abraham; Melchisedech brought it with him from the land of Semiramis to the land of Canaan, when he was beginning to found some settlements on the spot where Jerusalem was afterwards built; he made use of it then for offering sacrifice, when he offered bread and wine in the presence of Abraham, and he left it in the possession of that holy patriarch. This same chalice had also been preserved in Noah’s Ark."

‘The Complete Visions of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich’ ~ ‘The bitter passion of our Lord Jesus Christ’ ~ part 2 ~ MEDITATION III, IV & V; ‘Arrangements for eating the Paschal Lamb.’

[Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich; XVIII-XIX Century; born: 8 September 1774 Flamschen, Coesfeld, Prince-Bishopric of Münster, Holy Roman Empire/ died: 9 February 1824 (aged 49), Dülmen, Kingdom of Prussia, German Confederation; mystic, Marian visionary and stigmatist; Roman Catholic Augustinian canoness]
Meditation III ~ Arrangements for eating the Paschal Lamb.
When the disciples had spoken to Heli of Hebron
, the latter went back into the house by the court, but they turned to the right, and hastened down the north side of the hill, through Sion. They passed over a bridge, and walking along a road covered with brambles, reached the other side of the ravine, which was in front of the Temple, and of the row of houses which were to the south of that building. There stood the house of the aged Simeon, who died in the Temple after the presentation of our Lord; and his sons, some of whom were disciples of Jesus in secret, were actually living there. The Apostles spoke to one of them, a tall …Doliwat

Oh, Tom, I love this. It is so, so true. We could benefit, perhaps, in those hard moments by going into our rooms, closing the door, getting on our knees and begging Our Blessed Mother for the right things to say and to help us be the kind of Mother she is.

Stand for the FSSPX

There's no question about it, the same Vatican that WON’T evangelize jews and any other false religions, as they opose "religious proselytism", the same Vatican who abandoned the real Catholic Church in China to embrace the chinese communist party's false church, the same Vatican who stands proudly with the celebrated female bishop of the UK, WILL excommunicate the FSSPX.
What will you do? I understand, it’s not like we can burn tires and throw stones like some people do in countries around the world, perhaps NOT even a march of protest will turn false prophet Leo's decision, but 1st things first... Can an antipope excommunicate? Can a false prophet push your faith away? Can a promoter if beautiful lies cast you out from the grasp of our Lord? Exactly! Leo has no power to eclipse your strong faith, but the thing he can do is to make you suffer.
Embrace such suffering, welcome it, walk towards the desert WILLINGLY... DO NOT frown, do not call him names even if it is impossible, I know,…Doliwat

Cardinal Tagle participated in the Anglican liturgy and touted "our common faith and unity in Jesus Christ".

The optics of this really aren't good. Why did this need to happen in a Catholic church in Rome when there's a perfectly decent Anglican one within the walls?

The ape of the Church begins to mature.

" I have already told thee that the delights of the world, without Me, are venomous thorns, and, that the vision of the intellect is deluded by them, and the affection of the will is deluded into loving them, and the memory into retaining remembrance of them. The unity of these powers of the soul is so great that I cannot be offended by one without all the others offending Me at the same time, because the one presents to the other, as I told thee, good or evil, according to the pleasure of the free will. This free will is bound to the affection, and it moves as it pleases, either with the light of reason or without it. Your reason is attached to Me when your will does not, by disordinate love, cut it off from Me ; you have also in you the law of perversity, that continually fights against the Spirit."

‘How this soul was in great bitterness, on account of the blindness of those.…’ & ‘How the three steps figured in the Bridge…’ ~ 'The Dialogue' of Saint Catherine of Siena; 1907; A TREATISE OF DISCRETION; pp. 128-133

[Saint Catherine of Siena /Caterina di Benincasa/; XIV-XV Century AD; Siena, Republic of Siena/Rome, Papal States; aged 33; Spiritual Writer; Mystic; Virgin; Doctor of the Church]
“How this soul was in great bitterness, on account of the blindness of those who are drowned below in the river.
Then that soul, tormented by desire, considering her own imperfections
and those of others, was saddened to hear of and to see the great blindness of creatures, notwithstanding the great goodness of God, in having placed nothing in this life, no matter in what condition, that could be an impediment to the salvation of creatures, but rather arranged for the exercising and proving of virtue in them. And, notwithstanding all this, she saw them, through self- love and disordinate affection, go under by the river and arrive at eternal damnation, and many who were in the river and had begun to come out, turn back again, scandalised at her, because they had heard of the sweet goodness of GOD, who had …Doliwat

Bishop Strickland Statement on Vatican Welcoming Female ‘Archbishop’ of Canterbury

Images and reports have been circulating showing an Anglican woman “bishop” offering a gesture of blessing within the precincts of St. Peter’s Basilica. For many among the faithful, this has not been a moment of unity, but a source of deep confusion and sorrow.
As a successor of the Apostles, I am bound to speak – not with harshness, but with clarity born of charity.
The Catholic priesthood is not a human creation. It is a divine gift instituted by Our Lord Jesus Christ, entrusted to the Church, and safeguarded through the centuries with fidelity and sacrifice. The priest, by sacramental ordination, is configured to Christ in a unique and irreplaceable way, acting in persona Christi Capitis, especially in the offering of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
For this reason, the Church has definitively taught that she has no authority to confer priestly ordination on women. This teaching is not a matter open to change, adaptation, or reinterpretation. It belongs to the deposit of faith. …
