Blasphemy Scandal: First Reaction from the Archdiocese of Chicago - and Then?
A friend of LepantoIn.org contacted the Archdiocese of Chicago regarding a blasphemous [pseudo] "blessing" of two lesbians at St Vincent de Paul Parish in Lincoln Park, Chicago. The email criticised a …More
The email criticised a 'public perversion' and was addressed to the archdiocese's Office of Canonical Affairs: 'This is nothing short of a public disgrace and the order of justice demands a firm response not only from your office but from the office of Cardinal Cupich,' the author of the email wrote.
The original complaint didn't mention the date of the incident. The response came from Rev. Daniel Andree, the Judical Vicar. He wrote that the email was "the first notice we have received of anything that took place on 22 April".
Dutifully, Rev. Andree reported that "I have noted the sources and have begun the process for an appropriate response", and thanked "for informing us, which is often the only way we learn what is happening 'on the street'" - as if diocesan officials don't spend most of their time surfing …More

Love one another, as I have loved you. Homily for the 6th Sunday of Easter, Year B. In today’s gospel Jesus tells his disciples that they are to love each other as he has loved them. And how has he …More
In today’s gospel Jesus tells his disciples that they are to love each other as he has loved them. And how has he loved them? Well, John’s account of the Last Supper begins with the washing of feet. When Jesus washed the feet of his disciples he was teaching them an important lesson: “So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.” But the greatest manifestation of Jesus’ love for his disciples occurs the following day on the cross: “A man can have no greater love than to lay down his life for his friends.” Here we come to the ultimate test of love, and that test is sacrifice. And Jesus makes the ultimate sacrifice; he lays down his life.

For centuries, great Catholic theologians have voiced differing opinions on the exact details surrounding the rise of the prophesied Antichrist and his link to the rebuilding of the Jerusalem Temple.
In this episode of the John-Henry Westen Show we’re taking a deep-dive into what has been taught and prophesied about the Antichrist's rise to power, the steps that may be taken to bring about his coming, and the esteem and status he is likely to be given by those deceived by his seductive powers. Tune in for this jarring analysis on the Antichrist — the worst man yet to come.

1. Is it appropriate to attribute predestination to God?
2. What is predestination, and does it introduce anything real into the predestined?
3. Does the disapproval of certain men come from God?
4. Comparison between predestination and election; can we say that the predestined are chosen?
5. Are merits the cause or reason of predestination, or of reprobation, as well as of election?
6. Certainty of predestination: are the predestined infallibly saved?
7. Is the number of the predestined fixed? 8. Can predestination be aided by the prayers of the saints? Article 1 - Is it appropriate to attribute predestination to God? Objections: 1 . It seems that men are not predestined by God. Indeed, S. John Damascene writes: “You must know that God foresees everything, but does not predetermine everything. He foresees what is in us, but he does not predetermine it. “Now, human merits or demerits are in us, insofar as we are masters of our actions by free will. Therefore …More

I was the co-founder of Catholic Doors Ministry with Fr. Maurice Levesque. May God bless his soul. We founded the online ministry on August 22, 1998. For reasons of health, after 25 years as webmaster, I retired on December 19, 2023.
The ownership (and management) of the ministry was legally transferred to a layperson who resides in the district of Aberdeen, SK, Canada. Why the gentleman has not listed his name on the website as the new webmaster, I do not know. You can write to him at theoffice@catholicdoors.com …More

"The Catholic Church has always held that popes can be heretics, and that a pope who commits the public crime of heresy loses the papal office thereby. This belief is based on the teachings of the Scriptures, which assert that the heretic separates himself from the Church by committing the sin of heresy.
...
Theologians and canonists have disagreed on the details of how a heretical pope falls from office".
Well, based on what was said in the first paragraph, the authors of the document, if I understood them correctly, still reached a consensus that Francis, being a public and notorious heretic, fell away from the Church according to Divine Law. The only difficulty (noted in the second paragraph) is the question of how to remove a heretic (who has already fallen away from the Church) from the position he occupies. It seems to me that despite the difficulty noted, consensus on the first point is important.
We must fight for justice where it is possible.

Asian Cardinal Witnesses to Oppressive Climate at Francis' Synod
The challenge of the next conclave is that most of the cardinals do not know each other and not all speak Italian, Cardinal William Goh of Singapore told NcRegister.com (30 April). Cardinal Goh says …More
Cardinal Goh says about himself he is an introvert with a pious childhood ("going to church before class to pray the rosary at the age of 7"). He comes from a "not very religious" family, except for his mother.
Francis "is always popular with many of our Catholics [who have no idea of the real state of affairs in Francis' Vatican], and I think he is a beacon of hope, a beacon of mercy and compassion," Cardinal Goh says.
He is as critical of the former Synod of Bishops as a submissive Asian can be. He testifies to the oppressive climate during the event: "We could not be as open or direct as you would like to be ... for fear of offending people [= Francis] who have different views".
"It takes a lot of courage to say what you have to say and to be open about it," he says. He also speaks about "a subtle pressure …More

Priest Celebrates Lesbian [Pseudo] Marriage - One "Bride" Is Protestant Preacher
Rev. Joseph Williams, pastor of St. Vincent de Paul in Chicago, Illinois, officiated at a pseudo-marriage for two women in his church. They posted video footage on social media on 22 April and Rev. …More
One of the women, Kelli Beard, is a United Methodist minister. She will become an associate pastor at an Arizona church starting in July. The other, Myah Knight, is a mental health therapist who runs a 'religious trauma support group'.
Beard wore an off-the-shoulder champagne-coloured sequined dress, Knight a black suit with matching fedora and white tie. Rev Williams presided over an exchange of promises and blessed the two ladies.
Addressing the women by name, he asked: "Do you freely re-commit yourselves to love each other as holy spouses [sic!] and to live together in peace and harmony forever?" They answer: "We do, I do." Then Rev Williams blasphemed: "Loving God, increase and consecrate the love that Kelli and Myah have for …More

Francis recalled the “many occasions” he has received his “dear brother Justin” and that they have commissioned a number of Catholic and Anglican bishops to serve together.
“We must not be afraid of disagreements, but embrace them, leaving the primacy [of the pope] to the Paraclete.”
And, “It is a gift for me to feel close to the [heretical] communities that you represent. I am aware that the role of the Bishop of Rome is still a controversial and divisive issue among Christians.”
Francis wishes for a dialogue on this subject that "leaves behind useless controversies" in order to understand “how the Petrine ministry can be developed as a service of love for all.”

After Nude Video: Priest Removed
Bishop Mueggenborg of Reno, Nevada, has removed Rev. Honesto Agustin from his duties as a parish priest after a nude video of him was posted online. Mgr. Mueggenborg said on 30 April that a suspicious …More
Mgr. Mueggenborg said on 30 April that a suspicious social media account, a duplicate account with Agustin's name and picture, recently posted a ten-second video of him undressed and alone in his home.
After being alerted to the video, the diocese hired an independent investigator who concluded that the video was real and not generated by AI. The diocese doesn't believe the priest has committed any crime.
A complaint has already been filed with law enforcement against the person who allegedly created the account and posted the video.
